Infant Program
Here at Growing Footprints we realize how hard it can be to place your baby in someone else's care, which is why we strive to create your child's home away from home. Our infant program is located in one classroom which is licensed for seven children between the ages of six weeks and between twelve and fifteen months. The environment itself resembles a nursery - pastel colored walls, decorative area rugs and lamps, a rocking chair, natural wooden furniture including cribs, and a variety of educational toys. The infant program also has their own playground!
What makes an infant program stand out, is the teaching staff. We hire loving infant teachers who will strive to earn your infant's trust by meeting their individual needs, as well as challenging them to accomplish the next developmental skill. Our experienced teacher's strong bonds do not end with the infants - they also build strong partnerships with the families in their program. Growing Footprints provides numerous opportunities and events which encourage a strong Parent-Teacher Partnership. Once this partnership is created, our teachers maintain it by practicing effective communication, both verbally (through face-to-face and via telephone) and written (through emails, daily notes, quarterly child assessment meetings, and monthly newsletters).
Our teachers are also well trained and experienced when it comes to juggling the many tasks and activities that each and every day includes. There is no dictated schedule for the infant program - instead, there are seven individual routines due to each infant being on their own unique schedule. Each infant sleeps, eats, plays, and learns on their own pace, in their own time frame. Our infant teachers will work closely with the families in the program to ensure that the schedule followed during our hours resembles the schedule that they follow at home. Love and consistency is the key to a happy baby!
