Preschool Program
Preschool is the time when children explore the limits and boundaries of independence, and rules.
The preschool program here at Growing Footprints consists of one classroom which is licensed for twenty children between the ages of two years nine months and five years. Our preschool program is designed to prepare the children for Kindergarten, therefore there is more focus on following the daily routine, and incorporating additional educational areas into the chidlren's comfort zone.
The classroom contains clearly defined areas which are similar to toddlers, such as dramatic play area, art area, science area, math/manipulatices area, wet and dry sensory tables, block area, and quiet/reading area. Additionally, there is introducation to the areas which will be further explored in Kindergarten such as wood working area, writing areas, and technology with the computer. Field trips are also one advantage to the preschool program. The curriculum followed by the toddler program is The Creative Curriculum, therefore all of the activities and the weekly curriculum are created based on the children's interests.
