Toddler Program
The world of toddlers involves lots of hands-on exploration with a "holding hands" kind of approach! Our toddler teachers introduce new, exciting adventures, activities, and concepts to the toddlers by "holding their hands" until they feel comfortable.
The toddler program here at Growing Footprints consists of two toddler classrooms of children ages fifteen months to two years nine months. The Toddler One classroom is licensed for nine children and the Toddler Two classroom is licensed for four children. These classrooms, like the infant classroom, strive to create a home away from home with pastel colored walls, decorative area rugs and lamps, natural wooden furniture and a variety of toys. However, in toddlers a slightly more strict routine is followed and the children are introduced to a more educational environment.
The classrooms contain clearly defined areas such as dramatic play area, art area, science area, math/manipulatives area, wet and dry sensory tables, block area, and quiet/reading area. The curriculum followed by the toddler program is The Creative Curriculum, therefore all of the activities and the weekly curriculum are created based on the children's interests.
